OPERATION: AUBURN

In July I dyed my hair from black to a brownish/blondish color.   Now I get bored very easy so usually I'm at the salon every 3 months sometimes more frequent if it's haircut boredom.

However, Im trying to grow my hair out again to it's original long length so I'm cutting back on the cuts (lol)   But the blonde is a little bit much for me, the vacation in the South Carolina sun made it much lighter.

Sooooooooooooooooooo what's a girl to do.    Go visit her favorite salon and let her fabulous hairstylist work her magic.   I'm see RED, well maybe Auburn...........it's really not a far stretch for me.   My hair naturally pulls red and I was a red head as a kid and in my 20's.   Now when I say Redhead...I don't mean....Annie or Lucille Ball.

Lucille Ball

Lucy was the redheaded trendsetter...I use to watch her as a kid and want those cigarette pants and her ballet flats.   You never got an idea of how red she was because.....it was black & white television.

Julia Roberts

Now this gorgeous girl here........she was and still is my all time favorite actress in the universe.   I dyed my hair extra deep red after seeing Pretty Woman, and cut my hair like a magazine cover she did when she turned 30.

These are my selections, and I have about 2 weeks to decide because I'll be booking my salon appt this week.

Julia Roberts

Khloe Kardashian (love her...)

So I would love to here which one you like best, share you suggestions.   I will of course share my selection and the before and after shots here on the blog.

You can check out my fabulous hairstylist and her wild salon staff by visiting Exquisite Hair Designs on Facebook and check out their work for inspiration or if you are in the tri-state area make an appt.  Beauty and Talent is what you will find!

MAMA'S MAKEOVER

In 2006 I wanted to get my long hair chopped off like Victoria Beckham, this was of course before the whole world had that hairstyle.   I went to a salon and the girl didn't know what she was doing, so I was stuck with a Buster Brown bob.

At the time I was manager for a local female retail chain called XXI, while at work one day I spotted the hairstyle I had been longing for.   I admired it from afar then went up to the girl and asked where she got her hair done.   She told me in Union County, NJ which is only about 20-25 minutes from me so I wasn't totally disappointed.   I called the next day and made an appt with the stylist who's name she recommended.....Jessica A.

This is my freakin fabulous stylist Jessica

Well that was the beginning of one amazing hairstyle after another and for me....someone that hated haircuts and was afraid to the point I would go maybe one a year.   Now I go to her once a month. lol

She has now opened her own salon with her co-owner Nancy and they have an amazing group of stylists who work there.   You can go there on any given day for inspiration because they are on point with the styles and trends.  Actually there are ahead because every time I go she has done something different to her hair and all the stylist look great.

I did the Beckham, I did Katie Holmes bob,  I did Pink's faux hawk, the asymetrical bob and recently I shaved the right side...I've never had so much fun with my hair.  Here are pics of some of the styles.

And here is the latest.   Black bob with blue & turquoise highlights!

I LOVE MY FREAKING HAIR STYLIST!!!

I even bring my 3 oldest daughters there because even they love Jess

MAMA'S WEEKEND GETAWAY....Day 1

As a surprise for Valentine's Day, my husband planned a weekend getaway.  However he had to tell me about the surprise because of course I had to pack for it.  He knows I would go insane if I had been taken somewhere and hadn't planned my outfits out ahead of time with coordinating shoes and accessories.  Obsessive I know but true.lol   For a 3 day 2/night stay I packed 6 outfits, 5 pairs of shoes/boots, 3 coats and a box of accessories.  My husband thought I was crazy but I wore them all except one dress...

Here are some pictures of the 1st day driving down and arriving in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The 1st conversation with the kids...great view tho right?

Still talking...and my husband is playing the famous photograher. lol

I was being a wise ass and of course my husband is still snapping away.

As you can see the 1st day of this getaway involved a long conversation with the kids.

TRUE STORY......

Once upon a time not too long ago......I was a hot mama!   Actually I was happy with myself until this past year when I had my 5th child! (YEP...#5).   All of my children were born natural...and by that I mean I pushed them babies out w/ the help of an epidural! lol

Haven't been feeling so hot this year, but this weekend Im going on a romantic getaway with my husband.  We've never been away overnight without the children, so let's just say we are a little excited (WOOHOO)

Weeks ago I started some shopping for my new figure and Im actually happy with what I've got.   I already posted about my shoe addiction and new purchases for my shoe collection. lol       I wanted to clue you into a site that Im loving right now called Kensie  http://www.kensie.com/.   The clothes are fresh and hip, but for me it's about the fit.   I'm happy to say that this mama of 5 can rock these dresses and still feel chic and comfortable!

I ordered some shirts/dresses from Kensie and they arrived this week.    I'm going to show you what I ordered from the website because Big Daddy J and I will be having a bit of a fashion show weekend and I will be posting pics next week.
